    Tom and TippyMoreland Scholarships Awarded

    The 2025 Tom and Tippy Moreland Scholarships were awarded tofour graduating seniors, Cadence (Cadie) Cogswell, Jonathan Frisch, Delaney
    Thompson and Caleb Biddle at the Award Night program. Cadence plans to attend NKU to studyPolitical Science while participating in their accelerated program where she will receive her law degree within five years. She plans to go to Cincinnati and learn from others and finally comehome and open her own practice. Jonathan plans to attend Bluegrass Community
    and Technical College. He is enteringToyota’s Advanced Manufacturing Technician Program in which he will attend
    college and also be employed at Toyota. Thiswill fulfill a dream of his since he was a little boy. Delaney plans to attend NKU majoring inpediatric nursing. She volunteered atSouthern Elementary and enjoys the students’ excitement and energy. Caleb will attend NKU and major inBusiness. He feels that having abusiness degree, he can explore professions in many different fields. He is looking forward to meeting new people,making new friends and making connections that he can use throughout his life.

    Tom and Tippy Moreland established a charitable remainderunitrust in the early 1990s and named the Pendleton County Education Foundation
    as one of the beneficiaries. AfterTippy’s death (Tom predeceased her) a large portion of the trust fund was
    disbursed to the PCEF to be used for scholarships for Pendleton Countygraduates. The first scholarship was awarded in 1997. The Pendleton County Education Foundation has invested the funds.

    Education Support Grants

    PCEF presents check to NES

    PCEF Director Kay Mudd presented a $2000 check to Wesley Murray, principal at Northern Elementary. The Foundation gives a donation to Pendleton County schools on a rotating two year basis. Paper (Mallory Mullins, Secretary/Bookkeeper) and Pencil (Jodi Gerhardstein (Counselor) two essential staff members join their principal in accepting the check. Mrs. Mullins and Mrs. Gerhardstein are dressed and ready to join in the fun as the school kids enjoy Halloween activities.


    Mr. Murray commented:

    "Northern Elementary thanks the PCEF and its members for the continued support of Pendleton County Schools and will be using the gracious donation with an emphasis on improving communication and relationships with the community to help ensure that the home/school bond is nurtured so that Bobcat Nation can focus upon every student, every day."

    The Pendleton County Education Foundation is pleased to be able to assist our schools in their projects. The PCEF also gives scholarships to PC graduating seniors and manages several scholarships that are designated in memory of loved ones.

    PCEF presents Education Support Grant to PCHS

    Pendleton County EducationFoundation director Jan Johnston (right) presents a $2000 Education Support check to Chad Simms, principal at Pendleton High School. The foundation gives a donation to PendletonCounty schools on a rotating basis.

    Mr. Simms says they willbe using the funds to purchase items for the library to complete outcollaborative workspaces for students. This will include dry erase boards with easels, stand up desks, charging stations for laptops and other devices, etc.



  • PCEF accepts donations to any scholarship, Feed the Kids program, for the Miracle Point Playground, Classroom Support, and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library

    If you would like an acknowledge letter from PCEF, please include your address. Be sure to indicate a name if your donation is in honor/memory of someone.

  • Ways to support Pendleton County Students and Staff

    Listed below are some of the ways in which individuals can help financially support the students and staff in Pendleton County Schools. These gifts can be designated to provide needed resources for areas such as additional technology enhancements, school and classroom grants, special education programs, Classroom Supply Fund and other curricular areas.

    Cash

    Cash gifts are an excellent way of immediately supporting students through the Pendleton County Education Foundation. Cash gifts include checks, drafts, money orders, and cash contributions. If your gift is mailed to the Foundation prior to the end of the calendar year and you itemize when preparing your taxes, you are eligible for an income tax deduction for that year.

    Gifts

    Honor Gifts: Any individual may make a gift to the Foundation in honor of someone else, such as a teacher, principal, student or volunteer. Honor gifts may also be made for special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries and graduations.
    Memorial Gifts: Donations may be made to the Foundation in memory of a loved one who has passed away. These gifts can be made to the general fund of the Foundation or they can be designated for a special purpose or scholarship.
    Scholarships and Other Designated Funds: A donor may also establish a new scholarship fund or a new designated fund. Contact the Foundation to discuss specific details and guidelines on how to establish a new fund.
